Michel Klein was born in France, in 1987. He started learning clarinet at the age of 7. He
soon started to be interested about the mechanique of his instrument and try to adjust and repair some old clarinets by
himself. After working few years as a sound engineer he decided to learn more about woodwind instruments and graduated
with High Honours from the ITEMM (European Technological Institution for the Music Professions), one of the Europe’s
leading schools for wind instruments technical aspect, as a technical specialist of wind instruments maintenance and
Michel has been selected to improve his skills in Buffet Crampon repairing center in Mantes-la-Jolie and specialized
on clarinet with some of the best clarinet makers and repairmens. While he was working in BC, he has the opportunity to
repair instruments for international soloist and was spotted by the Belgian clarinetist Ronald Van Spaendonck. With his
help, Michel settle down in Bruxelles, Belgium, where he was the only one allowed to adjust RVS instruments. He was
also the trusted repairmen of many clarinet soloist and teachers from Belgium and Germany.
Since 2017, Michel is repairing woodwind instruments in Zhaoqing, China, and repairing instructor in College of
Music, Zhaoqing University. He collaborates with Buffet Crampon to promote clarinet in south China and improve the
level of wind instruments craftmanship in all China.
