LUO Xiao was born in Changsha, China, in 1988. Her father, LUO Jingdian, principal clarinet in Changsha Opera , started to teach her clarinet when she was a child. After finishing High school Xiao decided to dedicate more time to music and passed the enroll exam in Xinghai conservatory with the highest note in 2006. After she graduated, she went in Germany to have lessons with Prof. Diethelm KÜHN and Prof. Marco THOMAS in Berlin and follow the class of Pr. Manfred HADASCHIK in Musikakademie der Stadt in Kassel In 2012, she went to the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, Belgium, to prepare a Master of Clarinet. She studied with Prof. Eddy Vanoosthuyse, principal clarinet in Brussels Philarmonic and his two assistants: Dany Corstiens and Frank Coryn for three years and graduated in 2015. In 2013, she has perfomed with Eddy’s International Clarinet Choir in Assisi, in Italy for ICA’s clarinet festival and participated to the Belgian Clarinet Academie in Oostende. During she was in Europe, she had lessons from Prof. James GILLEPSIE and studied chamber music in Liege Conservatory (Belgium). She also followed master-class from many international clarinetists such as Robert SPRING, Stanley DRUCKER, Eli EBAN, Louis ROSSI and Seiki SHINOHE. In 2017 Xiao was hired as a clarinet teacher in Zhaoqing University after she played a memorable concert. She was also invited to perform in a concert during the Wind Instrument Festival in Xinghai Conservatory and give public lessons to the conservatory students.
